Back from iX2006.

We took a trip to Singapore last week to attend the iX 2006 conference. We don’t typically go to conferences; in fact, we don’t typically leave the office at all. We even prefer to get our lunches delivered whenever possible. For better or worse, Singapore’s “McDelivery” service isn’t available in our neck of the woods yet. How do they keep the fries from getting all soggy, anyhow?

Singapore all lit up.

Had a great time and met a bunch of new people over on the other side of the planet. Everyone was very gracious, especially those who had to listen to me ramble on about enterprise IM usage.

Richard… Heh… I’m sorry, I’m in the middle of this speech!

The conference went very well, and we even had a free day on Friday to check out the sights. Ended up at the Singapore Zoo’s “Night Safari” which was pretty cool. Felt like a miniature Disney World of sorts, only hotter. Being snuggled next to the equator is apparently no joke.

Zoo.

We’re back at work now and working towards a new build. Will be kicking things into overdrive to make up for our lost week.

Hi everyone,

We have rolled out the first alpha of Trillian 4 and have been knee-deep in bug reports! The alpha is currently in the hands of roughly 40 people, and we will be expanding the tester count in the coming weeks. The next phase of testing will involve sending the build to those of you who signed up via e-mail a while back. We’ve had quite a few bugs/suggestions reported (59 bugs fixed so far!) since we started, and are continuing to add new features as feedback warrants.

Please remember – as we bring more of you into the testing team, the product will still be considered ‘alpha’. This means it’s not done yet, and it also means we’re listening to your feature suggestions as opposed to just fixing bugs in existing features.

Thanks!

Statistics as of this post…

Current Build: 4.0.0.17
Number of Alpha Testers: 36
Bugs fixed so far: 59
Bugs still open: 48
