Images from the first meetup

Now that the details of Trillian Astra have finally been released to the public and alpha-testing is going so smoothly, it’s time for Trillian users to meet up again outside of their comfort zones and in reality! :) This will be a great time to share your tips and feedback for Trillian, and will also be a great opportunity for meeting new friends! If you happen to be around the city, please stop by.

The Second Trillian Users Meetup will be held on March 24th (Saturday) 2007, from 3pm to 5pm in New York City. The exact venue is not determined yet. We are still looking for a place to meet up, so if you have a suggestion please let us know! :D We will update the blog with more information once the venue is decided.

This is an informal meetup; confirmed guests will include Pak-Kei Mak (Kid) our head designer, Steve Ambielli of the GoTrillian team, and Denny Daugherty, who created Trillian Anywhere.

Is now available. Another bugfixing week, and we’ve finally taken some time to spruce up the now ancient Trillian Installer. We are continuing to work on new functionality in between fixing bugs and hope to have some of this technology completed in the coming weeks. In the meantime, we hope you enjoy the increasing stability that only a good dose of bug fixing can provide. :)

Build 33.

Is now available. More fixes, minor and major. We’re silently working on some new features in the background as we continue to iron out bugs. Enjoy! :)

Build 31, 32: In der neuen Version…

Friday, February 9th, 2007

Build 31 is now available. We spent the bulk of this week working on squashing as many bugs as we could, so hopefully build 31 is a more stable experience for everyone. We’ve also taken the wraps off of the first of the many user-created language packs this week! German was the first to 100%, and while it still needs a few minor changes and tweaks, it’s definitely ready for peer review and testing. We hope all of our German-speaking fans enjoy the language pack – remember that contributions are a simple wiki edit away! See you next week.

– UPDATE:  We’ve uploaded build 32 to address a minor bug with the German language pack.

Build 29. 30?! Trillian Mini!

Trillian Mini!

Our weekly server work is complete and build 29 is now available to the testing team. There’s only one catch: it’s not build 29. It’s build 30! After hours of testing and fine-tuning, we found a tricky last-minute crash bug in one of build 29’s DLL files. We had to issue an emergency fix for the crash and decided to renumber the build to avoid confusion, as some of you already got your hands on 29.

One of the cool things we’ve been working on this week is called Trillian Mini. Trillian Mini is the general name for a collection of useful widgets we’ll be launching over the coming weeks, and with build 30 we are proud to introduce the new status bar widget! These are basically little snippets of code you can add to your website(s) to easily show people your status and widget information. There have been plenty of great utilities that aggregate your IM status and export it to the web, but we figured with Trillian Astra we already have all of this data handy – why not make good use of it? We hope you enjoy it! Note that, as with all of Trillian Astra’s web functionality, Flash 9 is required.
