Build 3 is mostly a cleanup build for Mac OS X. The main bit of functionality is that the iconholder menus now connect through between core and UI properly. There are many other little minor adjustments — vector emoticons now space and align better with different fonts, and Astra inline images are turned into nice little expandable thumbnails.  As we’ve noted in previous blogs, most of the work right now is going into the next Windows build, while some OS X architecting is going on behind the scenes for upcoming features to be pulled over.

We are hard at work on Build 59 and will be back in touch on Friday.

Build 59 is shaping up to be a relatively major milestone for us, and the decision was just made to take another week to ensure it’s done right.  In addition to the MSN engine overhaul (which has been no small task!) one of the last remaining “major” features (of 2-3) we plan to implement in Trillian Astra is being worked on in preparation for the build.  We hope you’ll enjoy playing with the new goodies that Build 59 will offer, and we’ll be back with an update soon!

Build 2 for Mac OS X is now available. While last week’s Windows build brought much-welcomed updates to Stixe and the beginnings of major MSN/IMCore renovations, our Mac OS X client was getting plenty of TLC in the background. Today’s build introduces some important new features!
