Trillian 3.1.12.0 – Happy Thanksgiving!

Wednesday, November 26th, 2008

This morning we’ve started to roll out a minor update to Trillian 3.1, version 3.1.12.0.  This version addresses 3 recently reported security vulnerabilies and includes a minor fix for the MSN engine that was causing crashes for a small number of customers.

In Astra news, we’re continuing to add thousands of new testers each week and will be ramping up the rate over the coming weeks.  Testing is going reasonably well – we’ve fixed a few issues server-side as they’ve cropped up, and some of you may have noticed the occasional disconnect on the Astra service as we perform emergency maintenance or tuning when necessary.  Please bear with us during this process – we’ll have everything smoothed out before the final release.

Our offices will be closed Thursday and Friday of this week. We want to wish all of our celebrating customers a Happy Thanksgiving – we’ll see you next week!

Build 90.

Build 90 is now available. We’ve fixed more bugs and introduced some new icons for our preferences screen as well as a few minor updates to menu icons. Enjoy!

Build 89.

Friday, November 14th, 2008

Build 89 is now available. We’ve fixed a bunch of bugs and are working on other performance-related improvements simultaneously. As of Build 89, you will only receive updates the day we release them if you’ve enabled the “Check for beta versions of Trillian” option in your “Installation & Startup” preferences. This preference was not functioning correctly until Build 88, and today’s build will be the first time you’ll need the option enabled to get updates immediately after we release them. Those of you who keep this option disabled will continue to receive updates a few days after we release them. The intention of this feature was to avoid the mass distribution of a broken/regression bug build (i.e Build 86 to 87).

We’ve sent out many invites since last week and will continue to do so this week and beyond. Thanks for your support during our beta program and enjoy the fixes!
