While we prepare to send out beta acceptance notes in the next week or so for the iPhone version of Trillian, we thought we’d share some notes about the technology behind Trillian for iPhone, as well as the bearing said technology has on the Mac OS X port, since we’ve been so silent on that for so long.

Those who are curious about the Mysterious Inner Workings of such things can read this post, while others may feel free to skip over; we won’t be revealing the Secrets of Life, the Universe and Everything or some secret handshake needed to get into the iPhone beta.

Build 110 is now available and will begin rolling out to customers over the next few days. 110 fixes a few issues with Twitter, including code to address the dreaded Twitpocalypse.  We’ve also pushed out a handful of minor upgrades to server code.  A reminder to our new testers: new builds are released in stages. Those of you with the “Check for beta versions of Trillian” preference enabled will get the build first, and the build will be released to everyone after we’re sure it has stabilized.

As we progress towards the gold release of Trillian Astra, we have removed the token requirement from the download. You may now freely download the latest Trillian Astra beta from our download page.  Most of the major server issues have been addressed and many major bugs have been squashed, but we’re still busy fixing the remaining bugs! We will continue to address issues as they are reported and will be releasing new builds every week or two with our latest batch of fixes.
