Thank you. I love Trillian for windows and I bought the pro.. I just hope it uses a different default theme
a native aero theme maybe.. I use the classic theme “cobalt”.

Thanks for the update

Thanks looks good so far

Working good, thanks for the continued fixes.
May 18th, 2010 at 10:01 am
@Saif, you are using a *skin* called Cobalt. The other default *skin* Cordonata has more of an aero appearance than cobalt. Themes are just color varients. There are other 3rd party skins available on the forums if you want to explore different options.

I like trillian so far, very handy. What i can’t undersstand is y i started receiving lots of filthy spam about enlarging stuff as soon as i registered with trillian. Also the video call facility does not work. Any advice.
Thanks
May 18th, 2010 at 11:44 am
Anand, During the registration process, there is an opt-out from an advertiser. You may want to re-install Astra, and be 100% absolute sure that you unclick the opt-out. (I believe they are clicked “on” by default.)
May 18th, 2010 at 11:45 am
@Anand, Trillian doesn’t give out your information to spammers, but its possible that whatever you were using before was doing something to block your presence from being seen by them (unsure what you were previously using or what medium (MSN maybe?) you are talking about the spam coming in on. Video chat function is only for the Astra and Yahoo mediums at this point. Just start a text conversation with a contact using either of those and then you will have the button to start a video chat.
May 18th, 2010 at 11:46 am
@Peter, that doesn’t have anything to do with his problem actually. The opt-out is for a search toolbar company and wouldn’t result in spam messages or the inability to video chat. Reinstalling Astra also wouldn’t fix accidentally installing the ask toolbar. You would instead need to go to your control panel and find the ask toolbar and uninstall *that*.

Bug. Windows XP shutdown trillian process is stopped in 20sec

Thanks for the update, CS!

Thank you for the update!
What’s been really cool is that I didn’t even know these bugs existed! Everything has been working very smoothly! I thought I was getting crashes due to an older plugin, but even that seemed to have been resolved in previous updates.
That one bug was funny, though: [MSN] Trillian send messages to random offline users
Haha! That must have set off a stir. LOL
If any of you ever used the plugin TrillAlice… you probably can relate!

Seems to have fixed the MSN login issues.

what about saving our settings in the cloud so that i don’t have to go into each laptop’s installation to get those updated

Still seeing display issues:
- My Mail keeps mixing display modes on startup. Have to go into Contact List options and check/uncheck “Show unread mail messages as items in the contact list” before the display clears up. This bug has been in the last 4 releases at least.
- MetaContact with two MSN accounts only will not display account list when left-clicking on them and they are both offline. Not sure whether this happens if one or more is online. This bug was introduced two releases ago.
- Wish you would stop playing around with the colors in themes. Two releases ago you made some themes unusable due to using too light a gray color in the Bubbles view. Had to switch to something else just to read messages. Why the change? It was perfect before. Need to give the user a theme editor so we can fix these to our visual tastes.
I love this program but sometimes you tinker too much and break things. Not impressed that we are continuously paying for your playing. Not fair to the customer.

is it possible for astra to update all twitter accounts with each status change?
May 19th, 2010 at 4:53 am
I’d really like them to fix whatever causes Trillian to crash on exit. That bug’s been in for ages now.

Happy to have come back to Trillian, FTW!
May 19th, 2010 at 9:17 am
@newbie
right click on the top of trillian and go to view/contact list layout/contacts and adjust it to your preferences
May 19th, 2010 at 9:52 am
@Newbie: thanks – that may be fixed in the next build, so hang in there
May 19th, 2010 at 11:23 am
With the last build Trillian began to crash upon changing skins. That problem persists with this build, so I’m curious what “crash bugs” were fixed.
May 19th, 2010 at 11:31 am
@Ted .. you do realize the beta version you are using is supposed to get tinkered with and perfected right? Don’t use the beta version if you don’t want to see constant changes.
May 19th, 2010 at 1:19 pm
@DiamondNRG .. The issues I am describing came in an automatic update (when I didn’t have beta versions checked). I sought support for the issues but was told to update to the latest version to resolve the issues, which did not fix the problems. I have been d/ling betas since hoping that the issues would get addressed.

HI I M NEW IN TRILLIAN!
May 20th, 2010 at 10:44 am
Facebook chat never connects in this build. (status says “disconnected (due to an error)”)
May 20th, 2010 at 1:18 pm
Regarding the default theme.. The best one I’ve found so far is Avion Pro – check it out
May 20th, 2010 at 3:02 pm
@iamfromreallifw … it doesn’t work for a lot of people and didn’t in the last build either. Nothing changed in Trillian regarding Facebook, so clearly Facebook made changes and Trillian needs an update to address the issue.
@Kevin, yes Avion Pro is great, but that is a *skin*, not a *theme* … not trying to be a pain, just providing clarity to the other readers, the difference is very important as themes are pro only (just color variants of skins).
May 20th, 2010 at 7:17 pm
I would like to see a “naked” theme that would apply whatever aero theme I have selected.
This is the only thing I hate about Trillian is that there is no ability to have NO theme.

So, when can we expect to see Zune support for the Current Song status messages?
May 21st, 2010 at 4:50 am
I’ve found the problem with facebook login. It wouldn’t login after I changed a setting in facebook site (Account settings – account security – notify new devices). Everything is working again after I’ve disabled that option in facebook site.
May 21st, 2010 at 5:48 am
@iamfromreallifw … That is great, but it doesn’t seem to fix the problem for me or a few others that tried it.
May 21st, 2010 at 5:49 am
@Allen, they have said in the past they will not be doing that. However you are more than welcome to make a skin that matches the Windows 7 aero theme. In the past skinners always made skins that looked like XP grey, blue, olive, classic mode, and Vista … but all the skinners have left the community and we are in need of new ones.

Not that I noticed any bugs, but thanks for the update!
I’ve been wondering about the facebook feed. It may be a problem with my computer/account/whatever, but I’ve tried fixing it and now I’m at a loss. After a while the feed just stops updating. When I disconnect and connect again, the feed doesn’t show up at all. The only way I can get it to start working again is to completely restart Trillian.
Also, is the change to hidden connections intentional or is that something that will be fixed? Anyone know anything about that??
Anyway, thanks!!

Not sure if this started happening in this build a recent one, but if I leave Trillian running overnight (sorry, I haven’t tested enough to see the actual amount of time), the next day my Gmail and Hotmail mail counts are no longer updated nor am I notified of new mail. If I disconnect Google Talk and MSN and reconnect, the email stays in sync again but at some point during the night will stop updating again. Happening both on my work PC (Windows XP 32-bit) and home PC (Windows 7 64-bit). Both running build 18. Anyone else seeing this?

Trillian is one of the best softwares i have seen till nw i dont knw if there will be any competition to this software excellent ……

I use the latest version of Trillian on Windows 7. It causes my computer to freeze every 2 minutes for about 3 seconds and then allows it to keep going. I know it is Trillian, because when I am logged into Trilian the problem occurs. When I am not on Trillian my computer works fine. To work around this I have just been using meebo. Has anyone else experienced this with Windows 7? I never had this problem when I was on XP.
