w00t!
September 14th, 2007 at 4:28 pm
Right ON!!!!!
Moving forward at the speed of light.
September 14th, 2007 at 4:28 pm
I tested the myspace plugin and it logged me in right away!
September 14th, 2007 at 4:29 pm
Hooray for removing the knowledge bar! Rejoice! Best release yet for that reason alone…
September 14th, 2007 at 4:29 pm
AWESOME no more annoying rss feeds. Thanks!
September 14th, 2007 at 4:30 pm
I’m not seeing how to remove the Knowledge Bar entirely … anybody else seeing a way?
September 14th, 2007 at 4:31 pm
My life is complete! Thank you team Trillian.
September 14th, 2007 at 4:31 pm
Paradise, I think you remove all the feeds related to it.
September 14th, 2007 at 4:32 pm
It repopulates the list with all the original items when you try and remove them all.
September 14th, 2007 at 4:36 pm
yay! nothing worse than unwanted RSS….
September 14th, 2007 at 4:38 pm
Where are the native profiles for the Cobalt skin you promised us last week? xD
September 14th, 2007 at 4:39 pm
It seems to repopulate when you mouse over the left part of the pane. Delete all the feeds and immediately go to [close] and it shouldn’t repopulate.
September 14th, 2007 at 4:41 pm
unfortunately it appears there’s [still] no way to completely remove the knowledge bar.
September 14th, 2007 at 4:41 pm
@twiggy
I agree 100%!
@Paradise
I didn’t have that problem. I removed all of the feeds and the Knowledge Bar no longer appears. I even restarted Astra to make sure they didn’t return.
September 14th, 2007 at 4:41 pm
Skraggy, good catch. We’ll have that fixed in 57.
September 14th, 2007 at 4:42 pm
i take that back. you’re correct skraggy. it’s a bug that i’m seeing.
September 14th, 2007 at 4:43 pm
smw: aim has the same server resetting problem that plagued yahoo/icq.
September 14th, 2007 at 4:44 pm
the setting to disable it is kind of buried… although I appreciate that there *is* an option to disable it.
September 14th, 2007 at 4:45 pm
I cannot find where to add or remove feeds?
I am using the Cobalt skin if that makes any difference.
I like the knowledge bar and would like to add some of my favourite feeds to it.
September 14th, 2007 at 4:45 pm
Very cool! I love the new update. Playing with it now.
September 14th, 2007 at 4:45 pm
W00T! I gots me Myspace Messenger Back! And no RSS!!!
NIIIIIIIIICE
Thank you, oh Trillian gods!!
September 14th, 2007 at 4:46 pm
Paradise I had the same issue. It’s an interface bug as far as I can see. These steps worked for me:
1.) Remove all entries from the knowledge bar
2.) Click [Close] making sure not to move your mouse to the left menu
3.) Trillian should ask to restart to make these changes; allow it to do this
4.) When it restarts the entries should still be there, remove all of them except one
5.) Click [Close] as in Step 2
6.) Go back in and remove the final entry and do Step 5 again
All the entries should now be gone if you check again, and the Knowledge Bar will be gone.
September 14th, 2007 at 4:49 pm
Sweet build…
September 14th, 2007 at 4:49 pm
Clodia, in the Trillian Preferences, select the Text Conversations category, and on the left you should have an option for Instant Lookup.
September 14th, 2007 at 4:50 pm
I removed all feeds by clicking delete on each one and immediately closing the options window. I havent had any issues with them coming back.
September 14th, 2007 at 4:51 pm
@rickatnight11 : thank you
September 14th, 2007 at 4:53 pm
@clodia, sure thing! Glad to help.
September 14th, 2007 at 4:54 pm
Hint with MySpace:
I cannot log in using my MySpace email and password.
If you are certain you’ve entered your login information correctly, you may have an older password that is longer than 10 characters. Try typing in just the first 10 characters. To avoid confusion in the future, consider setting a new password in your MySpace Account Settings.
September 14th, 2007 at 5:14 pm
I think the MySpace plugin should start trimming and sending the first 10 characters out of the password on its own without us having to count and tell everyone *Only use the first 10 characters!*. It should save the full password entered, but handle it better so that we don’t have any more problems with myspace passwords. Glad to see it is working again! Good work.
I got a notification about the available update, but I wanted to wait a little while so I right clicked the notification to get rid of it. Later when I clicked check for updates, there was nothing found..? It is still searching for alpha releases as well..correct?
September 14th, 2007 at 5:22 pm
Myspace plugin gave me a start at first because it set everyone’s “last seen” to one minute ago.
But I am glad it is back.
September 14th, 2007 at 5:37 pm
MySpace plugin works fine, But i can’t see where you are to delete the RSS feeds.
I was also wondering if there were any plans to reinstate the mail notifications of the contact list. 3.x used to change the state of the icon for service that had mail, then in the lookup it would list out which of the accounts for that service had mail.
Also was there going to be a way to scroll through the ICQuser info? Instead of having to visit the ICQ user web site?
September 14th, 2007 at 5:41 pm
Scratch the RSS bit, i just figured it out.
September 14th, 2007 at 5:51 pm
Cool!
September 14th, 2007 at 6:09 pm
The log out of Trillian Astra is still causing Trillian to hang and freeze. I have to manually kill Trillian from the Task Manager and then launch it again.
Also, I am unable to see the email count for the various accounts that I have registered with Trillian. It just gives me a pop-up, but does not give any count of the number of new emails in each account. Further hotmail website does not even open up when I click on the link in the popup.
In case of Yahoo, has the support been provided for Yahoo Beta?
September 14th, 2007 at 6:36 pm
In the information window, click on the pull down on the right hand side. Select privacy.. it takes you to..

Thank you all at the Cerulean Studios Team, everyone there is doing a fine job in improving astra. Hats off to ya.
September 14th, 2007 at 7:06 pm
Awesome changelist. I’ve been waiting since the day I started using Astra (January) for a way to turn off the cursed knowledge bar.
September 14th, 2007 at 7:44 pm
hey can someone invite me so i can stop using this astra patch. i love beta testing and i love the new trillian astra so far. i payed for trillian 3 pro i was hoping to particapate in this alpha testing. you can contact me at whitedragon@gmail.com

im sorry i didnt see the previous notice about invites. i guess ill just have to wait and see if i get an invite sent to me my trillian pro has been up for a while. but i will be buying the new astra final build. it removes alot of un used crap i use to have
September 14th, 2007 at 9:10 pm
MySpace works like a champ. Tom says
Thanks
September 14th, 2007 at 10:08 pm
Thanks ^_^
September 14th, 2007 at 10:28 pm
I can’t seem to find how to remove the RSS feeds either.
JK
September 14th, 2007 at 10:33 pm
Never mind! I found it–like almost immediately after I posted.
I have another question though–what ports need to be open on the firewall (both incoming and outgoing) for trillian to work. I’m behind ISA 2006 Firewall at work and I can’t logon to Astra at all there. I thought I opened all of the ports I saw in the connections; but there must be something I’m missing.
Thanks,
JK
September 14th, 2007 at 10:57 pm
Myspace: “*** Creating connection “username@service.com”" and no resolution. Identities and Connections yield the “swirl’ icon, as if Myspace connection was…’being formed’?…again, without resolution. Believing I miss interpreted the plugins use of “username” as the login name, I tried the other name myspace gives in the site name: “http://www.myspace.com/username” but that username yielded less result.
September 14th, 2007 at 11:15 pm
nevermind, just took it awhile to connect with login name/password. Cool, I guess now that means I have to make some friends *grin*
September 14th, 2007 at 11:34 pm
How can I hide the messages/status messages that appear below each contact’s name? I would like to just see the icon, contact name, and message service for each user.
September 15th, 2007 at 12:05 am
I’m liking the progress. glad the Myspace plugin works, my wife was all giddy about that because I would never DL the Myspace IM program. This program really is coming a long way, keep up the great work!!
September 15th, 2007 at 12:09 am
You guys should think about BETA testing this thing now, or at least I would say that it is getting pretty close to that time. Give the public a taste. Working out the bugs might even go better and faster?? This program is worth every penny of whatever you guys decide to charge, at least I think so. It packs in so much convenience. Alright, alright I will stop kissing ass now. But no, I really love it.
September 15th, 2007 at 1:44 am
This is great..
However where did the Create Meta Contact feature go?? I cant seem to find it..
Hmmm..
Other than this.. I love having myspace back..
Thank you,
Keep up the good work..
–Brandon
September 15th, 2007 at 2:21 am
No more feeds! Best thing so far.
You guys should rethink your menu structure and layout. Took me a while to find it. Usability is quite low with all different ways of accessing settings. Leave it to one button that enters the whole preferences list.
But for the rest, keep up the good work!
September 15th, 2007 at 6:31 am
Editing the feeds – Yes!
The last version was freezing sometimes for a few seconds… hope this is fixed, otherwise I have to report it
September 15th, 2007 at 8:12 am
Only problem I’ve had thus far is the file transfers sometimes have errors and do not complete. This was with XP – now I’m installing on Vista and plan to give it a try this weekend and see how it goes…
September 15th, 2007 at 8:28 am
loved it! finally able to test myspace
September 15th, 2007 at 8:37 am
HI!
The new build works fine for me (still now
).
But I have another question… not sure to ask here:
At Trillian 3.1.x.x you had a status bar at the buttom of each Chat-Window, which shows you things like:
“contact x is writing a message” or “Last received message was on xx.xx.xxxx”. Is this missing in Trillian 4 Astra or is this not yet implemented? I’m realy missing this status-bar….
bye
IT
September 15th, 2007 at 10:38 am
My copy (self-updated) is working great! Added Engadget as an RSS feed and removed most of the stock feeds…Lookin good guys!
September 15th, 2007 at 12:41 pm
@Irontiger
One feature you may or may not be aware of, is that if someone is typing to you, the Chat tab at the bottom of the Message Window turns orange. As for the status bar, yes I miss it too.
September 15th, 2007 at 3:31 pm
Thank you for putting the power into our hands. I like feeds from BBC and NYTimes…they’re great conversation starters
Keep up the good work!
September 15th, 2007 at 3:32 pm
ALSO: auto-update = glee!
September 15th, 2007 at 4:11 pm
Upgrade went smoothly. I’ve noticed that every upgrade since 46? (or since i’ve been using astra) has reset my skin from minimal to original. Is anyone else seeing this?
September 15th, 2007 at 4:14 pm
Auto-update does not work for me anymore and I cannot connect to the server anymore. It sits at the ‘Logging In” screen.
Anyone have this same problem?
September 15th, 2007 at 4:32 pm
I’ve updated and still find I cannot log in to Myspace. I’ve tried with just the username, then with the email that I log in with and neither allow me to connect. I’m uncertain what this means… Otherwise it seems to run pretty smoothly. =o)
September 15th, 2007 at 4:42 pm
Hey what about WEBCAM??? it works? and if it does, how ??
September 15th, 2007 at 5:15 pm
[...] auch im Blog von Ceruleanstudios sehen kann kann man nun die Werbung in Trillian Astra abschalten (AD Free). [...]
September 15th, 2007 at 8:25 pm
Jabber crashed Astra repeatedly…reporting now.
September 15th, 2007 at 9:10 pm
I’m a pro user and still haven’t not gotten an invite 2 weeks after announcing pro customer invites….
Very nice………..
September 15th, 2007 at 9:54 pm
No RSS feeds.
Seems people are excited about not getting the news here. I, personally, liked getting the
updates. Especially since I had to find out how to get them started in the first place. And now, I suppose, like it or not, they are gone..?
Even when I try to get the URL from the ‘RSS’ links here, it opens my Outlook Express (that would be great if I it remembered what the URL was for it. Right now, you’re RSS link is great for me to check my Mail server for Email *grin* Obviously NOT it’s intended purpose.
September 16th, 2007 at 4:46 am
regarding irc plugin…
is there a way on how i can choose which channel that is listed which i search.
Currently i just type “/list”.
the trouble with that is that it will even show channel which has no user in it…=(
September 16th, 2007 at 9:23 am
I cannot log in to astra after i’v updated it.
September 16th, 2007 at 10:37 pm
Actually the Update went smoothly and nothing seems to be an issue. I actually had an issue in the last build that Trillian would error every time I exited the Program. However I don’t exactly think that was a Trillian Issue per say, I believe it had something to do with my Computer Specs. Considering I’m not running Windows Vista with the Recommended Specs (I have 448 MB of RAM instead of the Recommended 1GB or more.)
Besides all that great work with adding the MySpace Plugin. Which I actually haven’t tested nor really have any actual use for.
September 16th, 2007 at 10:57 pm
So, I finally found the RSS Feed thing buried in the Text Conversations. Am I missing a text list of new features that comes out with each build? I mean one that says “RSS Feeds added in Instant lookup located as the second bar of Text Conversations (Pref->Text->Instant)”. Thus far I am getting whats on here, which is only “Good job on feature, works great”
I know it wouldn’t resolve the problem, but maybe a Pref Menu with the +’s
…
Message Windows
Notifications
+ Text Conversations
+ Video & Audio
…
September 17th, 2007 at 4:19 am
Sorry but where on earth do you change the Knowledge Bar preferences?!?!? I’m getting really annoyed now as I’ve spent about 10 minutes searching for it.
It’s not on the drop down on the knowledge bar itself).
It’s not under Preferences > Message Windows.
It’s not under File > Options on the message window.
Why would they want to hide it?
September 17th, 2007 at 4:25 am
Ahhh, I’ve found it now… The problem is it’s called different things in different places and you can’t actually get to the preferences from screen where you see it! I still can’t work out where you turn it off. It’s so annoying that I’ve actually gone back to using MSN for the time being until I can work out where you disable the stupid thing (and I’ve got a degree in Computer Science!). Why don’t they just put an [X] on the knowledge bar which closes it? Or a right-click “close” option? If it’s good enough for all other programs it should be good enough for Trillian
September 17th, 2007 at 9:02 am
Still cant connect to myspace…
September 17th, 2007 at 11:04 am
I’ll check out on the MySpace plugin today see what all the fuss is about.

BryanX9X – those mail *status icons* are NOT coming back because they should never have been there in the first place. “Mail” is not a status, never has been, and never will be. However, they did say they are planning on bringing the “My Mail” section of the contact list back, which would list your accounts and allow you to check them with single access and constant notification of new emails.
jmaytum – The privacy link will likely exist later in the dev cycle as the program is just *SLIGHTLY* more important than the web site links
blaik2k4 – you should NOT use that patch, and hopefully you don’t get excluded from the alpha for being so stupid as to publicly state that you pirated it.
jrgarrigues – View Menu > Contact List Layout > Simple.
bojowaggie – It is in the same place it was in 3.1 Control click to hightlight 2 contacts and then right click and select “Create MetaContact”.
Irontiger – That “XXX is typing you a message” has been replaced by the hightlight Chat tab like rickatnight11 said, but this is only for the one new skin. If you try the other included skin (and many other as well) they still have this status bar on the message windows. The highlighted chat tab is far less intrusive though and it seems that after trying it, most actually prefer it.
September 17th, 2007 at 1:08 pm
rich_phoenix – There is a changlog always published in .txt files linked in the top of each blog post.
September 17th, 2007 at 2:57 pm
acctully im not proud i used that patched version i have onley used it periodicly to see improvements in builds.
litterally minutes after my post i was invited. i want to thank whom ever invited me. I will do my best to report any bugs i find if they arnt already posted. and i must say the real thing works alot better then the patched. the patched version doesnt allow it to be fully connected thus alot of the new features are void. therefore i want to discurage anyone from using the patch. waiting is definatly worth it.
My question is is the webcam still going to be quick time based. i hope not because that was an issue i hated. alot of people dont use quicktime they use quick time alt
September 17th, 2007 at 5:05 pm
The codec(s) for Audio Video for Astra have yet to be announced.
September 17th, 2007 at 6:46 pm
idk y ud b embarassed bout using the patch i got a new laptop with vista and i dont want 3 on there cuz it just dosent look good at all on it 2 me so i use a patch cuz ive waited months for an invite but i know im gonna buy the final
September 17th, 2007 at 9:12 pm
I’ve always noticed that after typing a message and pressing [ENTER] to send it that the Chat Window blinks alerting me to a new (received) message if I ALT+TAB to another screen right after pressing [ENTER] to send my message. This was true for 3.xx also. It’s annoying to flip back to the chat window just to see that you were in fact the last person to send a message.
If there’s a fix – suggestions?
Otherwise, I love ALPHA! err Trillian…you know.
September 17th, 2007 at 11:38 pm
Build 56 is working well. Having some issues with IRC. the IRC plugin was not part of the 55 or 56 build. I “borrowed” the dll from my trillian pro installation and it is not working properly. Where can I get the right IRC plugin? Thanks
September 18th, 2007 at 1:08 am
jusawsweet69 … You should be embarrassed of your horrible typing AND the fact that you are stealing it. Why even bother using the patched version, it won’t even let you save any of your changes or use MOST of the new features.
September 18th, 2007 at 8:39 am
The MSN plugin still doesnt allow to send Messages when Invisible (Appear Offline). MSN Messanger does allow that.
September 18th, 2007 at 10:18 am
Moonlight, you are right, in fact you also can not receive messages. Make sure you post it in Bugzilla where it should be posted.
September 18th, 2007 at 10:20 am
Wait…
2 Astra clients…
Online to Invisible … sends it as an offline message, receiver gets when they switch out of Invisible
Invisible to Invisible … same thing
Online to Online … normal
Invisible to Online … normal
September 18th, 2007 at 10:21 am
But it seems if the first message can go through, then the whole conversation will work.
September 18th, 2007 at 10:22 am
So it turns out you are actually wrong … you can send even while invisible, and even have conversations, you just have to start them.
So invisible to invisible is the only thing that is NOT possible at this time.
(sorry for so many posts … blog .. how dumb, this chat should be in the forums)
September 18th, 2007 at 10:27 am
Alright, nevermind … it has to do with your status when you open the message window as that is when MSN actually starts the conversation (unlike all other mediums) … so yes if you open the message window while Invisible, you can not send, just like you said.
September 18th, 2007 at 8:12 pm
I got the alpha invitation for astra at about 11pm mytime and installed it right away at home. Simple superb
. Thanks for the astonishing work.
I have trillian pro 3 at my office PC and never once got to use AOL and Yahoo’s bloated clients. Today i tried to install astra at office PC, it is not signing in !…I think the login to astra server is blocked by my office proxy, though it goes fine with yahoo/AOL/MSN on trillian 3. I pulled the cable and started astra, it started and said in “Offline mode”..then i put the lan cable, and i can start using AIM/Yahoo !!!!.
Is there any option to start the astra with offline mode as i guess many people will have same issues from work which blocks certain ports?. I played with the accounts.ini file – to disable auto login, but i still cant get it run (without cable pulling).
When i set the login server as login.trillianastra.com port 80,
C:\Program Files\TrillianAstra>netstat -an | grep 74.201.34.2
TCP 152.62.17.65:4189 74.201.34.2:80 ESTABLISHED
But the client hangs at the Loggin in state.
So going to pull cable
.

I can’t really say that build 56 is working or not since I CAN*T LOGG INN TO THE FRACKIN’ THING!!! I have left bug reports all over and even submitted a ticket to customers service in hope that they might be able to help but I am not holding my breath
I really want to try Astra but for that I need the correct logg inn info (keep getting “bad password”) If anyone know who I can contact to get the right help in this matter I would greatly appreciate it.
September 19th, 2007 at 1:36 am
@ DiamondNRG sorry my typing is sloppy but i spend atleast 50% of my day iming ppl it’s more fluid 2 me 2 type like this… yea its the best thing i use a patch but i wanna test 2 i put in a request like 5 months ago atleast n i havent heard nething…. yea i miss out on astra thats all i still can use my aim yahoo msn its all i use neway.. and it saves everything i care to b saved my passwords thats all.. ill admit im young but still old enough a job and pay my bills and i know im gonna buy the product i just h8 the fact im stuck out the loop when i love testing new software and its like a passion 4 me 2 b on the cutting edge all the time so no im not proud but i have a reason and i will buy it..
September 19th, 2007 at 1:16 pm
DiamondNRG thanXX for the info. As long as they are coming back with the MyMail feature that will work for me.
Curious, but where are you getting your info?
Any news on the status of IRC ? Is it coming back as well? or is it gone?
September 19th, 2007 at 1:19 pm
@jwwws – It is because you are hitting Alt+Tab while the message is still processing. So you flip programs, & the message finishes it’s run & it sends the alert, because that command is near the end of it’s run.
September 19th, 2007 at 1:20 pm
@jusasweet69 – last i knew you had to be a paying member already in order to test the system. So you might want to buy it now if you want to get your invite.
September 19th, 2007 at 5:13 pm
I was hoping the ability to view AIM profiles without having to go to AIM pages, will that ever be available again?
September 19th, 2007 at 6:14 pm
astra = incredible
this new build has fixed almost every problem i saw, but i still got a few questions:
1) is there a way to turn off the little circle indicating what servicea contact is using that covers up part of their buddy icon?
2) also, the notifications things that popup when someone signs on/off ect seem really spaced out. is that an attribute of the skin? or is there suttin / can there be suttin to adjust this? perhaps give them some transparency too?
3) i noticed when clicking the any of the 4 buttons that flank your icon in the main window, they all move around a bit. this is probly just suttin thats yet to get polished up, but i figured id mention it. i also realize this isnt a question
4) is there a way to direct connect?
5) i just noticed this: in the advanced option > themes menus, the up and down arrows are missing, they are white bars unless i mouse over them
thats all i got now, but its really a great build. keep up the phenomonal work!
September 19th, 2007 at 7:59 pm
Bryan, IRC has been discontinued. It will be developed 3rd party by a plugin developer by the handle of KingIR. The 3.1 version of IRC does work on Astra though.
Also there are many Trillian Basic users in the alpha as well, it was only favored towards Pro users, not limited, but now all Pro users have been (or are being) let in, so buying Pro now would definitely increase your chances of making it into the alpha test.
Ed, The overlay of the status indicator has been requested to be optional in Bugzilla, it is not possible yet. The notifications likely is just a skin setting, I think they look fine. Also never noticed the buttons in the contact list moving, you might want to submit that as a bug. Direct Connect has not been implemented yet (no promise it will be either) And the up and down arrows missing is for sure a bug, please use bugzilla and submit it.
September 19th, 2007 at 11:30 pm
I’m finally in!! Signed up about 6 months ago, and just got my welcome e-mail. Thanks so much for letting me in – great work guys! this build is fantastic!
I’ll be doing some major testing soon – trying all and every feature. In the meantime, it looks great, but the borders on grouped IM’s look pretty terrible in that plain grayish black. When changing themes i get some occasional color hangups and have to restart (only some parts change) – also, some of the widgets are way too huge!
September 19th, 2007 at 11:31 pm
Maybe its because i don’t have vista, not sure, but still, some of us are “stuck in the past”. Optimize for XP!

I was telling a corny computer networking joke to a friend of mind and found something….annoying. I wanted to type “HUBba HUBba” (first 3 letters CAPS; with or without quotes) and was unable to do it, I had no success searching for a checkbox to turn the ‘un-capping’ off.
Send me a HUBba HUBba if you can do it *grin*

As far so good only trouble I had is one of my old plugins doesn’t work (webstatus V3)
Myspace doesn’t seem to want to work all the time
One thing that need to be add is a way to override the text colours, used in the message window, set in some themes without having to edit the colour.ini yourself
I use the inferno red theme, and dark blue text is hate to read.

I don’t have uncapping at all.
When I type HUBa it sends HUBa.

ps what was the joke?

Overall I’m very impressed with Astra however the latest build and MSN do not work on my machine: Yahoo, AIM and LCS all work but MSN is unable to send or receive messages; Is anyone else seeing issues with this?
September 20th, 2007 at 10:07 am
DS2K … old plugins are just that “old plugins” they need to be updated by their authors. And there never was a version 3 of Webstatus anyways, the version numbers don’t always line up to the versions of Trillian.
MySpace seems to work fine as of build 56. What issues do you have with it not working now?
The colors thing has a huge thread on bugzilla and will be dealt with at some point, just probably not immediately (slight guess).

@DiamondNRG – Maybe you know the answer to this one.
What about the ability to log in to accounts from multiple PCs?
Say i have Trillian running on my desktop logged in to all my accounts. Then i start it up on my laptop. The two instances have a duel for control of the various accounts. Mainly accounts like yahoo, msn.
This would also bring up an earlier thing i noticed but forgotto mention. The ability to set the relogin parameters. In 3.x you could set up what it would do if you got disconnected. How many times you wanted it to retry the login & how far apart between each attempt.

Bryan … I don’t have a good answer for you on that question. Scott has discussed a few times (publicly) that they are still working out how exactly to deal with multiple instances of Astra. This question is a bigger question for those that chose to quick login via the webpage when they are away from their normal desktop/laptop that has Astra already running 24/7.
Yahoo and MSN specifically do not allow for multiple logins on the same account, so Trillian will likely need to impliment some way of allowing you to pick what happens, or maybe if the last login takes over but you log out of it then the first one can log back in … lots of ideas like that have been tossed around. Only time (and the CS devs) can tell what will happen though.
Great question

ahohensee, for the help with Trillian, go to the forums – http://www.ceruleanstudios.com/forums/ – or, if you’re a paying PRO customer, you can also submit a support ticket here: http://www.ceruleanstudios.com/support/

Well Ive totally given up any kind of hope of a late invite for a pro customer. If someone could invite me I would appreciate it.

clodia: yes, “HUBba” works fine here…I don’t have a problem with this blog…
try to send it IN CHAT. I guess when talking about IMing, I should have made that clear.

DiamondNRG I entered my email address and password and all that comes up in the
status window in *** Creating connection “darkshadow01@optushome.com.au” and that’s all
the timer sits on 1 sec.
And now it seem google doesn’t want to work for me.
I enter my gmail address and password and when I hit connect the whole thing just disappears
Yet I can log in to both via http://www.ebuddy.com/index.php

@DiamondNRG: since I consider you the icon guru……..; when one of my Yahoo accounts has a status different than the other, I get the 2-orb icon. I have 2 Myspace accounts, when one if away and the other is online I get a blank icon.
Just wondering if my system ate the 2-orb myspace icon *grin*

@rich_phoenix:
I mean in chat, too. (using the astra client, not the site)
Is this protocol specific? I tested it using msn, irc and aim, and it arrived the way I typed it?
September 21st, 2007 at 8:37 am
Auto update worked fine under Vista business. ICQ and AIM did not connect after the update, I had to delete the accounts and add them manually again. Now everything works fine !
September 21st, 2007 at 12:12 pm
rich … It is possible they did not create that icon. I will look into it likely tomorrow when I am planning on doing a refresh for *all* my icon packs (hopefully)

My MSN is borked. When trying to send a message to an msn user, I get:
*** The following message could not be delivered to all recipients: MSG 2 N 65
MIME-Version: 1.0
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8
Also, some MSN users show up only as Yahoo users. They can not be added or messaged through Yahoo.
Finally, I’m sure this is still in production, but I see no place in MSN or Yahoo windows to start a voice/video chat.

@clodia – How did you test the HUBba issue in IRC on Astra, when it is not currently supported?
September 21st, 2007 at 7:20 pm
Bryan .. it is supported, it is not included. IRC is still at 3.1 and just not bundled with Astra as they dont want it to be the focus of testers as they are not updating it anymore.
So if you copy the irc.dll and the language files for it from your 3.1 install to Astra, you will have IRC on Astra.
KingIR is going to be making a 3rd party IRC plugin in the future instead of CS working on it anymore.

@clodia: Ah, found it
Spellchecker 1.01 has a defaulted “Enable capitalization fixes”.
I can now enter ‘BBS’, ‘FBI’, and ‘IMs’ with ease.

“# TChachra Says:

Right ON!!!!!
Moving forward at the speed of light.”
Lol! Is that some kind of joke? How many months has it been since Astra was created? Moving at the speed of a turtle would be more appropriate. Even now this entire Astra nightmare is still not over.

Looks good guys! No issues here. All happy.
^_^

September 23rd, 2007 at 6:36 pm
Narc … it is not a nightmare, and if you can’t handle it, kindly uninstall it and go back to playing Solitaire on Windows 98.

I haven’t had many problems with Trillian other than a few spontaneous runtime errors associated to when my internet connection drops and reconnects. Trillian then crashes when it tries to reconnect. It does not happen every time, just sometimes. But to me it’s more stable than Trillian 3.1. No problems updating either. Maybe I’m lucky but it sure seems to be running all find for me.
Narc, Trillian is like..hmm…at default 7 applications in one. AIM, ICQ, MSN, Yahoo, Jabber, Google Talk, and Myspace. I think it’d take quite a while to make sure it’s ready for final release.

I received my invite (as a pro user) on the 4th or 5th. I installed Astra and was loving it.
Then, 2 days ago, my computer was acting very strange, so I used Windows XP’s Restore point, and the best candidate for restoring was Aug 30, days before the download and install of the Astra product.
I also cannot seem to find my invite anywhere in my email archives. Is there any way that invite can be resent, or can I access the download with my username/password anywhere?
Any help would be appreciated.
September 24th, 2007 at 3:42 pm
lost my contacts for yahoo & msn says im connected but no contacts show up. Cant get the myspace plugin to allow me to connect telling me i have an invalid password
September 25th, 2007 at 7:48 am
Like HaDAk, I quite often get the MSN ‘message cannot be delivered’ error. I find the only way to get around this is to use the global disconnect/reconnect to re-establish a connection. Apart from that, great stuff. So glad that RSS feed has gone!
September 25th, 2007 at 12:32 pm
ondrovic … use your password in lower case, and make sure you use your myspace EMAIL address not your display name.
There is plenty more help in the forums for the topic of Yahoo and MSN not working.
September 26th, 2007 at 10:15 am
Alright… being new to the Astra alpha…. where do I download the latest build?
is it still the same link that was given to me in my introductory email?
And how do I change the password that was given to me?
September 26th, 2007 at 4:18 pm
Yes, the link is the same.
No, you can not change the password.
September 27th, 2007 at 12:03 pm
Diamond;
Have you heard any news? how are things going with the bugs?
What else needs to be tested? Is there a listing of things thatthey would like tested?
September 30th, 2007 at 7:16 am
