No build this week.
Build 59 is shaping up to be a relatively major milestone for us, and the decision was just made to take another week to ensure it’s done right. In addition to the MSN engine overhaul (which has been no small task!) one of the last remaining “major” features (of 2-3) we plan to implement in Trillian Astra is being worked on in preparation for the build. We hope you’ll enjoy playing with the new goodies that Build 59 will offer, and we’ll be back with an update soon!

So what’s the third major plan?
October 19th, 2007 at 10:30 pm
Looking forward to 59 and seeing the new features. Will the Google/Jabber engines be overhauled, as you are doing for MSN?

They didn’t list any of the 2 to 3 in that blog post. Those details are not public. One of them is *obviously* Audio/Video though

Oh, I wonder what it is!

Oh I can hardly wait till next Friday.

Way to leave us hanging haha, I can’t wait Cerulean Studios roxorz.

Friend and I brainstormed. Assuming that the MSN core and Audio/Video support are two features to be added, we figured the third had to be something primarily related to Astra. We surfed the tour and the only thing they advertise that hasn’t been implemented is the web profile. Would love to see this.

Can’t wait for the audio/video plugin. lol of course I took the dll file from my 3.1 ver. thinking I knew what I was doing when I first got astra. Just to prove that I had no idea lol. Thought I would share that for a good laugh
I would like to say that for a Alpha build its very stable. I would have thought I was going to have many problems but chatting, file transfers, and all the old plugins that I use (ie trilly tunes 2, SkyLlian, aspell checker, good news, IRC, and Rendezvous) work great and no crashing. Good Job!!! Blowing Meebo out of the water for the browers muiltiple IM service lol. L8ter

There has also been quite a bit of talk about a contact import wizard

sol, Google and Jabber are already being redone slowly and continuously (Rachel does these, not Scott).

Whatever we get, it certainly will be good!

Is there a chance that the issue with connecting through a proxy tunnel being one of the things being worked on in the new build?
October 22nd, 2007 at 8:38 am
Please tell me proxy support will be in the next build?

The Jabber/Google plugins are receiving a major makeover to the new medium engine once MSN is no longer the focus, yes. The XMPP parser should already be pretty solid in Astra, but there’s functionality which can’t be added until the engine has had that TLC, but we’re trying to all stay fairly focused.

Sorry to post this here, but how can I reset my Astra password? Astra crashed on me and I realized that my Astra password was not what I thought it was. I can’t find anyplace to reset it.
October 22nd, 2007 at 4:31 pm
You can not reset or change it. This functionality has not been added yet.

Oooo I guess something big is happening. Can’t wait to see. Don’t disappoint me

Maybe I’ve not read all the info, or just missed it, but I can’t get my Astra work through proxy on different port then 3128. Is it possible?
What I need is to use proxy on port 80, and icq server on port 443 (this is my employer’s policy, I can’t change it anyhow). With old version it’s possible without problems, but not in Astra.

Amazing news!!! Eagerly waiting for more!
Custom emoticons, improved file transfer and offline messaging are some of my expectations for MSN! Sure they won’t let me down!
Thanks for your effort and hard work!

I don’t know if this has been ruled out in the past, but I would actually probably being willing to pay for Pro, but for one VERY irritating thing about trillian. All other im clients allow both a ctrl-tab and a ctrl-shift-tab to advance or go backward in the tabs in a container window. Unless I am missing something, the only way to go back with trill is ctrl-pageDn. While obviously not a huge concern, it seems to be something incredibly simple to have an option to switch, and I vastly prefer being able to backtrack with ctrl-shift-tab. If anyone knows whether this is a) slated for another build, b) decided solidly against, or c) is being considered, please let me know.

Will be in next build option to copy ICQ number in details about contact ?

[...] Freitag gab es kein Update für Trillian Astra, dafür wurde aber mit dem Update von gestern die Version von Build 58 [...]

LordLoki … if you want that to be considered, you need to add it to bugzilla as a feature request. Ctrl-Tab allows you to go through them in most recently used order as well.
