No token or invite required!
As we progress towards the gold release of Trillian Astra, we have removed the token requirement from the download. You may now freely download the latest Trillian Astra beta from our download page. Most of the major server issues have been addressed and many major bugs have been squashed, but we’re still busy fixing the remaining bugs! We will continue to address issues as they are reported and will be releasing new builds every week or two with our latest batch of fixes.
Please let us know if you encounter any issues with the new account creation process and be sure to get all of your friends to try Trillian Astra!

I’ve been waiting to be able to use Astra since 2006 when it first appeared, and had to wait for the token, since no one ever invited me (suckers!!!) and now, besides of installing it, just upgraded from my Trillian v3 Pro!
Astra is looking really nice guys…. congrats!!!

Well I’ve downloaded it twice now (once with IE & once with Chrome) and the install doesn’t work.
The first screen show a “Browse” window and nothing telling you what to browse for. The next window in install some toolbar and accept the blank license agreement, then the installer bombs saying it is corrupted and to download again.

Hi there,
congrats for the official public beta, but why there is still no access to the web client??!
I think it is very bad, if you official start and release the final build (no beta) of Astra in few months, but the webclient is still not working or in beta or what ever..
And there are no news on the webclient..
Whether it needs the huge and bad Adobe Air runtime, or your own very small sub 1 mb runtime!
Whats going on?
There was only TWO blog entries regarding the webclient..!

PSchuetz

> I believe (Diamond can verify) that everything except the windows client is on hold until the windows client goes gold. Why? Because then the Astra CORE will be solidified (after a bug fix or two), and therefore stable enough to move to Mac and Web and iPhone/iPod Touch VERY QUICKLY.

The devs even seem to be continuing to use/test the web version regularly, probably keeping it from getting ancient while the core gets tweaked… just my guess though.

It took long enough!!!!! 3 years!! I wouldn’t doubt it if CS did revert back to a closed beta for another 3 years!
June 11th, 2009 at 8:57 pm
They should also make a Windows Mobile based app because WinMo is high in demand now for apps! I am afraid to ask though because, it would probably be another 3 years till that will come out but I would love to help out.

I just wanted to mention that I began getting the “Trillian has stopped working” and the problem was fixed by uninstalling Skype from my computer. Hope this helps.

I’m really hoping you guys make an app for us blackberry users. I mean, cmon we have nothing right now in terms of multi client mobile IMs.

I’m running Windows 7. I can’t get the video chat to work. Is it disabled at the moment?
June 12th, 2009 at 9:31 pm
If Cerulean Studios would consider making the Activity History Viewer and the Ability to change themes for free then CS would have a competitive product. Some features that CS are asking to pay for, are free in other clients. I understand about charging for the Video and Web Chat because they will be bandwidth extensive since they will be proxy through CS servers. CS really needs to look at the features of Digsby and Adium and adjust their features accordingly, if they plan to become a top AIO Client once again. Take a look at: http://www.digsby.com/features.php to determine what features you should make free and what features you should keep as pro.
