Trillian for Windows 4.1 Build 18.
Build 18 is now available to beta testers on the download page, fixing additional bugs. Reminder: Trillian 4.1 is not currently auto-updating itself – testers should download the new build by hand and manually update until further notice.
We will be discontinuing support for older builds within the Trillian 4.1 beta line in the near future! If you are a current Trillian 4.1 tester, please be sure to download Build 18.

—Isn’t the point of beta testing to always have the newest builds? What good is beta testing 4.1 build 15 when 4.1 build 18 is out?
And a Mac release would certainly do many good things. While a Mac build would be useless to me, I would appreciate a release of one.

I bet that they are doing that because, perhaps many at still using older versions of 4.1 and have not updated to newer builds.

Hey, there’s a bug in your installer:
You’re not correctly detecting version 10,1,51,45 of flash.
Oh, and while i’m at it, if I move trillian to the monitor (two screens) aligned right, and have it snap to that (left) side, let the computer sleep or hibernate, on return from hibernate it will
1) Snap to the left side of the first monitor (bad – it causes every window open to resize, and they have to be manually resized when I move it back)
2) Hovers about 7/8s of the first screen over, not touching any sides of the screen. When it does this it also does not behave normally (e.g. all you can do with it is touch the frame, resnapping results in normal functionality again).
Furthermore, it’d be super awesome if I could tell notifications to appear on the second screen.
Love trillian though, been a customer for two years now.

I believe it was just a cosmetic fix. Prior to this build each plugin’s version used to say 4.0, looks like they just forgot (or didn’t bother) to change it to 4.1 in accordance with the main version’s number.

I have a question.The privacy state (right click) can only be set for online yahoo contacts. Not for an offline contact.

I am sorry I mistyped. All of them see me as OFFLINE all the time. Even if I manually set myself online they do not see me signing in.
That was the case for about 3 hours (Yes I tried to restart Trillian and the computer, did not solve the problem).
After a while it automatically got better, now it works well, I do not know why though.

I’ve uninstalled Trillian as a result of this, and won’t be using you software anymore.
And I was just about to register for the pro version, since the pro-features on my trial had just expired.
Well, I hope whoring the Ask-toolbar is worth the customers you will – hopefully – loose because of this.

Did you make sure to uncheck the options to install Ask.com toolbar? I had the option to not install it. So maybe you rushed through?

As DarkNovaGamer stated, make sure to uncheck BOTH check boxes for the ask tollbar during astra installation. If both are unchecked it will not install.

IRC plugin seems broken in 4.1 build 18–it displays my username as the name of the channel I’m in during chats, and I’m disconnecting constantly.

I’m calling shenangians on “R.” Wouldn’t a real complaint use more than one letter as a name? Likewise, wouldn’t a real complaint be more than a “Trillian sucks” with a swear word thrown in?
@DarkNovaGamer , I’ve always kept my build current. I’ve never understood the logic behind alpha/beta testing while keeping old builds.

Well I have some friends that are testing it but don’t have the time to check Trillian’s site to see if theres a new build, daily. So I end up keeping them updated but not everyone has a friend like me.

@DarkNovaGamer. Ok, I can see that. So, at most, maybe you get the newest builds a week or so later.
Yet, the way they said it in the blog entry makes me think that there’s still people running 14, 15, and 16. There shouldn’t be an excuse for running builds THAT old. If you check the blog at least once every 10 days or so at the most, you should be good.

My wording isn’t always how I mean it to be. I apologize for that. You are right theres no excuse for someone running lets say build 14 or 15. Its more understandable if the builds are released frequently, though they don’t seem to be so.
I just want the OS X build to be released, thats all I asked for.

Well the thing is, this is a beta, so it should be auto-notifying of builds like it did during 4.0 … no idea why they haven’t turned that back on though.

All of you need to just calm down, Ask.com toolbar will NOT install if you uncheck the box.
It is simply hard to find in the installation because it is greyed out once you uncheck the box under it!

I have issues where in MSN my preset color and text formatting doesn’t always work. The color is always right, but 1/2 the time the txt doesn’t start as bold, if I backspace and type again, it turns bold.
Also, if I type a long message and the text spans the input window, the whole area where I type turns blue and shakes with each new character typed. SUPER ANNOYING!
Also, wtf ads? Ask? Why not just commit corporate suicide. That is going to cause more losses than the 25 cents Ask is gonna pay you for each install with you affid.
