December 16th, 2009 at 7:30 pm
I wouldn’t have known about this update today, if trillian didn’t crash while I was removing someone! Quick build release, good job!
*prays for OS X release soon*
December 16th, 2009 at 7:36 pm
Wonderful! I’m glad we got the IRC bug fixed quickly. I hope my screenshot helped
Now if you can just add kickban to the command line (in addition to the GUI) and the ability to set channel modes of the channel you’re on without having to specify, I could switch to Trillian exclusively for all of my Instant Messaging needs.
Keep up all the good work!
December 16th, 2009 at 8:48 pm
Update worked well. Everything works fine as always.
Thank you very much! ^^

December 17th, 2009 at 3:58 am
Really nice build and just like many here my trillian crashed and there the update was..:)
How come the check for update option is removed in the 4.1 beta?
Would love to have that put back so I can check without having to go to some website and check..:)
Nice work, keep it up..

Another week without a simple, short but official statement about an OS X version of Trillian, although Mac users are growing fast around the world. This will be a leak in the Trillian future… I don’t understand why, really.
We’ve to stay on Adium…
December 17th, 2009 at 6:08 am
Update went smoothly, thanks
December 17th, 2009 at 8:00 am
Did they fix MSN file transfers finally?
December 17th, 2009 at 9:09 am
@Screemer … you can too check for updates, but its not neat how you do it.
Go to file help at the top of the contact list if it says “check for updates” that means there already is one. So really it just adds the check for updates line if there already is one.
But of course this doesn’t work when manual updates are being used, which is how 4.1 has been until this very build. But now it auto-updates anyways, so you don’t have to even check… mine just has a window popup that says “new build available…etc…”
@Thelothian, I believe OS X is behind schedule because they are working on the iPhone build now … they were not expecting Apple to approve it last month and thus I think they thought they would be working more on OS X… Mac users chose to to be such, and thus they will simply just have to wait… us Windows users had to wait 3+ years for Astra for Windows too…
@Marcel … no, MSN overhaul was not included in 4.1 … it is delayed to 4.2.

Love autoupdate. But will always still want to be able to get the full install of all released versions. thanks for the update!!
December 17th, 2009 at 11:47 am
Doesn’t seem like the update works if you connect to Astra through port 80 instead of default (necessary because of a corporate firewall). I’ll have to try at home on the default Astra port to see if that’s the case.
December 17th, 2009 at 12:17 pm
@John … you can always download them at http://www.trillian.im/download... But there is no reason to keep old installers as those versions won’t connect.
December 17th, 2009 at 12:32 pm
http://trillian.cachefly.net/trillian.im/images/..etc and http://cerulean.cachenetworks.com/trillian-v4.1.0.19.exe are not available for me. And I can’t auto-update either.
December 17th, 2009 at 5:14 pm
I keep forgetting to ask:
Are you ever going to add “add contact to this group” back to the right click menu? It’s been missing since Astra alpha/beta started, and it bugs me, but I keep forgetting to ask!
December 17th, 2009 at 5:14 pm
Thanks for keeping us updated!
December 17th, 2009 at 10:11 pm
@Steve – it was removed on purpose
I too miss it. Kid wanted less right click options … maybe it is in bugzilla though and we can rally people to vote for him to convince him we want it back!
December 18th, 2009 at 12:28 pm
The notification sound worked again.. thank you
December 18th, 2009 at 1:47 pm
Seems the ctrl+; function to input current song no longer works neither does the status for current song playing
December 18th, 2009 at 2:05 pm
is anything wrong with the website? i can’t download the installer from the website at all and not even auto update the program.
December 18th, 2009 at 6:33 pm
Website and Installer work fine here… Try another browser or clearing your temp files…
December 19th, 2009 at 8:12 pm
i cannot connect to facebook chat and the chat settings are missing in the trillian preferences
December 20th, 2009 at 1:39 am
rrr666
Look in: Preferences/Identities and Connections. In 4.1 they moved some of the facebook pref stuff.
December 20th, 2009 at 7:03 am
File transfer rates are veryslow for msn !
Could you please fix this bug ?
December 21st, 2009 at 7:56 am
I miss the right-click Add to Group option as well, but it’s not a crisis to do it the new way, just a little more time consuming.
December 21st, 2009 at 1:20 pm
@MagicG … that fix was bumped back to 4.2… so eventually…
December 21st, 2009 at 6:16 pm
Great update. Took me a bit to figure out where the FB Chat stuff got moved to. Only downside is that I can no longer chat through FB Chat in the client – doesn’t give me a typing box, just a big TROUBLESHOOT button. Other than that, the stability is great and everything else seems to be working like a dream.
